The Lego Patent

Godtfred patented the stud and tube configuration in a number of countries, including most European and North American countries. All of these patents made essentially the same claims and used one of three different sets of drawings. An example of each type is shown below. This was the first of thousands of worldwide utility and design patents for the Lego System.
